3 Steps to Finding the Right Ad Words for your Marketing Campaign

Do you have a great product or service you’d like to offer, but don’t know what to say?  Is your advertising campaign not seeing any results?  Did you know that you could easily turn an ineffective ad to a powerfully efficient ad with just a few minor tweaks?  Best of all, it’s really quite simple.

Step 1: Define your Purpose

When I first begin the process of developing an ad I initially start with the end in mind.  I ask myself, “Who is my target audience?” and “What is my desired end result?”  By definitively answering these two questions I can begin to move forward at a rapid and successful rate.

Step 2: Find the Right Key Words

After I answered the previous two questions clearly, I then begin to toy with Google AdWords (you must first be signed in to Google to use this free feature).  I begin to think of words that will both trigger an emotion and generate a large response.  After you’ve thought of a few key words for a headliner, write them in the section, “Find Keywords”.  Find words that have a combination of high monthly searches and low competition.

Step 3: Pilot your Ad

Whether your ad is for an online or offline business you should always pilot your ad on Facebook.  Facebook is the most efficient and inexpensive way to pilot your ad.  Facebook allows you to run multiple ads at the same time and will even run reports as to which of your ads are generating the greatest response so that you can make the best, informed decisions.

Conclusion

You now know everything you need to choose the right ad words for your marketing campaign.  If your campaign only involves Facebook or a search engine ad such as Google or Yahoo!, then no further steps are necessary.  However, if your ad is going to be a print ad, then check out my popular post “10 Tips to Getting Results from your Print Ads” or “The Power of Z”.
